Traverse City Central has gone 9-1 against Alpena recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 206th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Alpena can bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They strolled past Sault Area with points to spare, taking the game 55-38.

Traverse City Central is also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points per game. As for Alpena, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-8.
