Softball Recap: Maddson Bobbitt's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Galax over Grayson County

Galax lost against Grayson County back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Maroon Tide might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 11-1 to the Blue Devils, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Maroon Tide have suffered against the Blue Devils since May 27, 2022.

Galax saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddson Bobbitt, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Galax's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Grayson County, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-5.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Galax is set to challenge their familiar foe Bland County at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Grayson County will take on rival Auburn at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
