Preview: Maplewood Tigers vs. Seneca Bobcats
The Maplewood Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Seneca Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Pennsylvania (Maplewood is ranked 532nd, while Seneca is ranked 527th).
Maplewood missed an extra point against Cochranton on Friday and it came back to haunt them. Maplewood and Cochranton were almost perfectly matched up, but Maplewood suffered an agonizing 14-13 loss.
Despite the loss, Maplewood saw an underclassman step up: Kyle Jordan rushed for 85 yards, and also threw for 87 yards and two touchdowns.
Seneca fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They snuck past Northwestern with a 20-15 victory on Saturday.
Nolan Seabury was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 50 yards and two touchdowns.
Maplewood has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Seneca, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 3-6 record this season.
Maplewood was dealt a bruising 40-13 loss at the hands of Seneca when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Can Maplewood avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
