Recap: Harvey Red Raiders vs. Perry Pirates

After a string of three wins, the Harvey Red Raiders's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 59-48 to Perry. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Harvey in their matchups with Perry: they've now lost eight in a row.

Chase Goines and Armani Hall certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Goines scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Hall scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Deontae Ware was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two blocks.

Harvey's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Perry, they pushed their record up to 8-6 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

Harvey will take on Jefferson Area at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Jefferson Area knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Harvey likes a good challenge. As for Perry, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Bishop Watterson at 4:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Perry is facing Bishop Watterson at the right time seeing as Bishop Watterson is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
