Baseball Recap: Wilton-Lyndeborough Warriors vs. Concord Christian Kingsmen

Wilton-Lyndeborough had lost four straight at home, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 3-10 to make it five. They lost 8-1 to the Concord Christian Kingsmen. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Kingsmen this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-2 back in April.

As for Concord Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games.

For Concord Christian's part, TJ Charbono made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out 16 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). Charbono has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one RBI.

In other batting news, Grady St Jean was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.
