Basketball Recap: Greenville Piles Up the Points Against Mt. Zion

Greenville had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. They blew past the Mt. Zion Eagles, posting a 60-23 victory. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Ca'Tavia Bennett continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a triple-double on 21 points, ten rebounds, and 11 steals. The contest was her 14th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Daliyah Ellison, who posted 15 points along with six steals and five assists.

Greenville's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-2. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.8 points per game. As for Mt. Zion, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17.
