After a string of eight wins, Clover Hill's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They lost 12-2 to the Powhatan Indians. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Cavaliers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Clover Hill saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Owen Tingen, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run.

Clover Hill's loss dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Powhatan, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Clover Hill is set to take on their familiar foe James River Midlothian at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Powhatan will face off against rival Monacan at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Indians 3.9, the Chiefs 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
