Talawanda entered their tilt with Northwest on Thursday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They were the clear victors by a 21-1 margin over the Knights. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 14-4 win last Friday.

Jack Stigall tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He is becoming a predictor of Talawanda's success: when he allows at most one hit the team is 2-1 (and 5-6 when he doesn't).

At the plate, Talawanda got a massive performance out of Hunter Griffin, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. The Brave are undefeated when Griffin posts three or more RBI, but 4-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Wright, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

Talawanda kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.1 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 10.4.

The victory got Talawanda back to even at 7-7. As for Northwest, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.

Talawanda will venture away from home to challenge Hamilton at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Northwest, they will welcome Goshen at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
