It was a proper cat-fight when Pacelli challenged Edgar on Tuesday. The Cardinals sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Wildcats. For the Cardinals, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 victory the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in June of 2023.

Pacelli got a great performance from Keltin Opper as he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Opper has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Malise Beduhn, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Braeden Flaker, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

The win made it two in a row for Pacelli and bumps their season record up to 19-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Edgar, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-6.

As of now, neither Pacelli nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
