Basketball Recap: St. Genevieve Gets the Win

St. Genevieve can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They pulled ahead with a 60-59 photo finish over the Glendale Nitros. The win was all the more spectacular given the Valiants' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 678th, while the Nitros are ranked 321st).

St. Genevieve's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Glendale, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 8-5 record.

St. Genevieve will take on Bosco Tech in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bosco Tech will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something St. Genevieve surely won't give up without a fight. As for Glendale, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Arcadia at 6:45 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
