Wheaton Academy is a perfect 4-0 against Illinois Math & Science Academy since May of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Warriors are taking a road trip to take on the Titans at 6:15 p.m. Wheaton Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Illinois Math & Science Academy will be coming in after a loss.

Last Thursday, it was close, but Wheaton Academy sidestepped Marmion for a 2-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Wheaton Academy who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 21-25, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Illinois Math & Science Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Elgin.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Elgin scored at least 18 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-18.

Illinois Math & Science Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Wheaton Academy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Wheaton Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Illinois Math & Science Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
