Basketball Game Preview: Seaholm Maples vs. Athens Red Hawks

The Seaholm Maples will venture away from home to challenge the Athens Red Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Friday, Seaholm was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 53-49 to Oak Park. The loss continues a trend for the Maples in their matchups with the Knights: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Athens, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They blew past Kettering 80-45 on Saturday. The Red Hawks' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Athens' victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-6. As for Seaholm, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Seaholm came up short against Athens in their previous matchup back in January, falling 47-39. Can Seaholm avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
