Basketball Recap: West Davidson Gets the Win

West Davidson hadn't done well against Salisbury recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The West Davidson Dragons slipped by the Salisbury Hornets 45-44. Winning may never get old, but the Dragons sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Wyatt Cooper was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Another player making a difference was Motlei Stovall, who posted five points and seven boards.

West Davidson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in eight consecutive games.

West Davidson is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Salisbury, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-7.

West Davidson will take on Lexington at 6:00 p.m. on February 4th. As for Salisbury, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 64-45 win against West Rowan on the 30th.
