Meanwhile, Seymour fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against A.C. Reynolds on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 6-5.

Drew Childress stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Andrew Baird was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Morristown-Hamblen East's record is now 6-19-1. As for Seymour, their record now sits at 14-12.

Morristown-Hamblen East might still be hurting after the 8-0 loss they got from Seymour in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Hurricanes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
