Pueblo West waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top against the Pueblo Central Wildcats by a score of 75-62. That's more bragging rights for the Cyclones, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Pueblo Central's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Darrin Hemphill, who posted 17 points. The dominant performance gave Hemphill a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Tayvon Evans, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards.

Pueblo West now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Pueblo Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season.
