Basketball Recap: Appleton East Comes Up Short

After flying high against Oshkosh North last Tuesday, Appleton East came back down to earth. The Appleton East Patriots fell 75-65 to the Neenah Rockets on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Rockets: they've now lost six in a row.

Appleton East's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Neenah, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.

Appleton East will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Appleton West at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Neenah and Monona Grove will round out the year against one another at at 1:00 p.m. on December 30th. Neenah is facing Monona Grove at the right time seeing as Monona Grove is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
