Baseball Recap: Bellmont Find Success

Bellmont won the last time they faced Fort Wayne Wayne and things went their way on Saturday too. The Braves walked away with a 12-7 win over the Generals.

Layne LeMaster was incredible, going 3-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one triple. He is becoming a predictor of Bellmont's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 2-6 when he doesn't). Matt Bleeke was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

Bellmont was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.

Bellmont's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Fort Wayne Wayne, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bellmont will host Fort Wayne North Side at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Braves are facing the Legends at the right time seeing as the Legends are stuck on a 14-game losing streak. As for Fort Wayne Wayne, they will square off against Woodlan at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.53 runs per game on average), something the Generals will no doubt try to take advantage of.
