Volleyball Recap: Shamokin Area Indians vs. Athens Wildcats

With a playoff game on the line, Shamokin Area rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged the Athens Wildcats out 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Indians sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Shamokin Area got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 20-25, 25-18, 19-25, 16-14.

Despite the loss, Athens still got an impressive performance from Ella Coyle, who had 41 digs. Coyle is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 11 every time she's taken the court this season.

Shamokin Area's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Athens, they now have a losing record at 14-15.

As of now, neither Shamokin Area nor Athens have any future games scheduled.
