Softball Game Preview: Amboy Clippers vs. Somonauk Bobcats

The Amboy Clippers will head out on the road to take on the Somonauk Bobcats at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses apiece.

Amboy lost 12-2 to Morrison on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Somonauk came up short against Newark on Thursday, falling 16-1.

Somonauk saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ashley McCoy, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Kaydence Eade also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Somonauk's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Amboy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-17-1.

Amboy couldn't quite finish off Somonauk in their previous matchup back in May of 2023 and fell 2-0. Can the Clippers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
