Baseball Recap: Gates County Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Gates County extended their winning streak to three on Monday, bumping them up to 7-4. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Camden County Bruins a 4-0 shutout. For the Red Barons, this counts as revenge for the 8-2 victory the Bruins walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2025.

Gates County got a great performance from Jacob Ross as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over 6.2 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Ross has posted since back in April of 2025.

At the plate, Andrew Brown was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Sean Rountree was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

As for Camden County, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-6. The game marked the first time this year in which they were not able to get on the board.

On Camden County's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colson Ward, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
