Football Recap: Jersey Falls to Roxana in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Jersey had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 30-18 to the Roxana Shells on Friday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.

Roxana found their leader in sophomore Mekhi Shorter, who rushed for 145 yards and three scores on only 13 carries.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jersey will head out to square off against Freeburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Roxana, they will venture away from home to take on Red Bud at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
