Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Alliaya Cade and Hadassah Brown Lead Waukegan to Victory

Waukegan won the last time they faced Highland Park and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Waukegan Bulldogs walked away with a 49-41 victory over the Highland Park Giants.

Waukegan was led to victory by Hadassah Brown and Alliaya Cade. Brown went 9 for 17 on her way to 22 points and five steals, while Cade went 8 of 15 en route to 17 points and six boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Brown has scored at least a third of Waukegan's points. Madison Johnson was another key player, putting up four points and five assists.

Waukegan's record now sits at 15-9. As for Highland Park, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 18-7 record.

Waukegan and Highland Park should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. Waukegan (ranked 152nd) will meet Woodlands Academy (ranked 520th) at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Highland Park will face off against Niles West at 6:30 p.m. on Friday up 197 places (175 vs. 372).
