Softball Recap: Mulvane's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against McPherson, Mulvane was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the Pratt Greenbacks 11-4. The Wildcats not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 31st (when they won 10-2).

Sophie Bruce made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.

In other batting news, Regan Witt was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Bailey Hall, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Mulvane's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-8. As for Pratt, they dropped their record down to 2-7 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Greenbacks beat Mulvane by a score of 11-5 later that day.
