Basketball Recap: Sterling Comes Up Short

After flying high against Galesburg last Tuesday, Sterling came back down to earth. The Sterling Golden Warriors came up short against the East Moline United Panthers on Friday, falling 65-42. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Golden Warriors have suffered against the Panthers since December 17, 2021.

Sterling now has a losing record of 14-15. As for East Moline United, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sterling will challenge Geneseo at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sterling is facing Geneseo at the right time seeing as Geneseo is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for East Moline United, they will take on Moline at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
