Softball Game Preview: Ganado Hornets vs. Chinle Wildcats

The Ganado Hornets will venture away from home to face off against the Chinle Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Ganado has given up an average of 10 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Ganado lost 14-4 to Monument Valley on Monday. The Hornets have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Chinle fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Tuba City on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Wildcats have suffered since April 2, 2024.

Chinle has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Ganado, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13.

Ganado was able to grind out a solid win over Chinle in their previous meeting back in March, winning 9-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hornets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
