Soccer Game Preview: Effingham County vs. South Effingham

The Effingham County Rebels are taking a road trip to take on the South Effingham Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Effingham County has given up an average of 3.9 goals per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Effingham County is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten goals last Tuesday, they were much more limited against Greenbrier on Friday. They lost 6-0 to the Wolfpack. While losing is never fun, Effingham County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while Greenbrier are ranked 14th).

Meanwhile, after soaring to five goals the game before, South Effingham was a bit more limited in their match on Wednesday. They fell just short of Long County by a score of 1-0.

South Effingham's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Effingham County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.
