Basketball Recap: Ben Lomond Takes a Loss

Ben Lomond was the 63-23 winner over Tooele when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Ben Lomond Scots were outmatched by the Tooele Buffaloes and fell 65-16. The Scots were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-13.

Payton Huff was Ben Lomond's leading scorer, having posted six points. Huff also led the team in rebounds with eight.

Tooele found their leader in sophomore Kennedy Searle, who went 10 of 18 on her way to 23 points and eight rebounds. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for Searle. Another player making a difference was Macie Gustin, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 13 points and four steals.

Ben Lomond is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6. As for Tooele, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Ben Lomond will challenge Rockwell at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Tooele, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 72-46 defeat against Mountain View on the 11th.
