Basketball Recap: Summit Takes a Loss

Summit has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a blow against the Brentwood Bruins on Tuesday, falling 92-45. The Spartans lost against the Bruins in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 51-47 score last time.

Summit's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3. As for Brentwood, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Summit will be home for the holidays to greet Fairview at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Brentwood, they will be taking part in a tournament against LaVergne at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Brentwood knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully LaVergne likes a good challenge.
