Baseball Recap: MOT Charter Drops Highest Score of Season Against St. Elizabeth

MOT Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 10-9 heartbreaker at the hands of the St. Elizabeth Vikings. On the bright side, the nine- run performance marked the Mustangs' highest-scoring game to date.

Chase Castora put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). Castora was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 3-for-5. He also hit two doubles, marking his first of the season.

In other batting news, Bryan Huang made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole four bases while going 1-for-4. JJ Harding also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

MOT Charter's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for St. Elizabeth, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. MOT Charter will host Christiana at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Vikings have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.33 runs per game on average), something the Mustangs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for St. Elizabeth, they will square off against Conrad Science at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
