Softball Recap: Ten Straight Home Victories for Lowry

Lowry has relied on a stalwart pitcher averaging 3.39 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Spring Creek Spartans 14-12. The Buckaroos haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Adalyn Entwistle was a standout: she scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-5. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalya Guizar, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Entwistle wasn't the only one making solid contact: Lowry kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive matchups.

Lowry's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Spring Creek, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-12.

Looking ahead, Lowry is taking a road trip to challenge Damonte Ranch at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Spring Creek, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fernley at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The Vaqueros will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight.
