Volleyball Recap: Hermann Comes Up Short

Hermann lost against Helias back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Bearcats took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crusaders. The Bearcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The final score came out to 25-11, 25-17, 24-26, 25-18.

Ashlyn Hughes paced Hermann's offense, picking up 15 kills. Hughes got some help from Jaelee Kahler and her 19 assists. Kalli Landolt controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Leading Helias to victory were Sophie Verslues and Liza Boyer. Verslues had 18 digs and three assists, while Boyer had six digs and four assists. That's the most assists Verslues has posted since back in September.

Hermann now has a losing record of 11-12-1. As for Helias, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 28-1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hermann will challenge Union at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Helias, they will face off against Jefferson City at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
