Basketball Recap: Pajaro Valley Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Pajaro Valley entered their matchup against York on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Pajaro Valley Grizzlies fell to the York Falcons 70-65. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Grizzlies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 66-48 back in January.

York found their leader in sophomore Gianni Zeljo, who went 8 for 17 en route to 30 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Zeljo's evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Dedome Demagbo was another key player, going 8 of 20 on his way to 19 points in addition to five boards and four steals.

Pajaro Valley's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-9. As for York, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-4.

Pajaro Valley will challenge Monterey Bay Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for York, they will take on Kirby Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
