Baseball Recap: Summertown Takes a Loss

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Sunday as neither Summertown nor Lewis County made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Eagles fell 4-1 to the Panthers. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 8-7.

Cason Blackwood was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Summertown's defeat dropped their record down to 20-9. As for Lewis County, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-13.

Summertown wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 7-1 victory against Battle Creek on the 4th. Hopefully Lewis County paid attention to the Eagles' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
