New Mexico Military Institute came tearing into Thursday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the East Mountain Timberwolves by a score of 6-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Javier Yepiz Galindo was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Konstatino Scopelitis and Grant Maloney did most of the damage at the plate: Scopelitis went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Maloney went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple. Another player making a difference was Nicolas Barcenas, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

New Mexico Military Institute pushed their record up to 16-6 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for East Mountain, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-7.
