Basketball Recap: Malcolm Hunter Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Stonington

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against New London, Windham was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 49-42 victory over the Stonington Bears. The 49-point effort marked the Whippets' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Windham's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Malcolm Hunter, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 16 points. The matchup was Hunter's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Anden Gonzalez was another key player, putting up 16 points and five boards.

The victory got Windham back to even at 3-3. As for Stonington, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

When Windham and Stonington next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Windham will try to stop Killingly's five-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Windham is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.2 points per game this season. Similarly, Stonington will take on Windham RVT and their six-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
