Softball Recap: Norwell Takes a Loss

Norwell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 9-4 to the Leo Lions. If the Knights were looking for revenge after losing 6-1 to the Lions when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Reese Frauhiger was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Mia Kurtz was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Norwell's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Leo, they pushed their record up to 12-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Norwell will square off against Bellmont at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Braves have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season. As for Leo, they will take on Carroll at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Lions 2.7, the Chargers 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
