            Baseball Recap: Whitmer Panthers vs. Napoleon Wildcats        
        
		
        
        
            Whitmer had lost nine straight at home, but  on Friday they dropped their record down to 1-14 to make it ten. They fell just short of the Napoleon Wildcats by a score of  2-0. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in May of 2024.
As for Napoleon, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5-1 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games.
For Napoleon's part,  Cal Bickel was a  major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he  didn't allow a single  earned run over seven innings pitched. What's more,  Bickel posted five  strikeouts, the most he's  had since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-2 with two  stolen bases.
 In other batting news,  Parker Woods was  excellent,  going 2-for-3 with one  stolen base, two  RBI,  and one  double.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Whitmer will face off against Defiance at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Napoleon, they will head out to  take on Patrick Henry  at 11:30  a.m.  on Saturday.
