Recap: Blake Bengals vs. Riverdale Baptist Crusaders
The Blake Bengals pushed their score all the way to 65 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 74-65 to Riverdale Baptist. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Thursday (57), Blake still had to take the loss.
It was another big night for Giovonni Sanford, who scored 22 points for Riverdale Baptist. Sanford continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Dominic Carr was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
Blake's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Riverdale Baptist, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-5.
Blake will look to defend their home court on January 8, 2024 against Springbrook at 5:30 p.m. Riverdale Baptist won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Archbishop Carroll at 8:30 p.m. on December 30th. Archbishop Carroll is on a three-game streak of home wins, Riverdale Baptist a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
