Brayden Lawson Delivers Best Effort of Season

On Friday, Marmaton Valley got the W thanks in part to Brayden Lawson playing the best football he has all season. Lawson rushed for 146 yards and five touchdowns on only eight carries, and also threw for 157 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 passes, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up two sacks, forcing two fumbles, and making 15 total tackles.

If the past is any indication, Lawson could be in store for another big game when he takes on St. Paul on Friday. When Lawson last faced the Indians back in October of 2023, he threw for 346 yards and seven touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and also rushed for 83 yards and two touchdowns.

Demitri Williamson was instrumental in extending Oswego's winning streak to three on Friday. Williamson wasn't messing around, rushing for 146 yards and three touchdowns. The game was his third straight with two or more rushing touchdowns. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 75 yards.

This year, Williamson has run in 13 touchdowns while averaging 88.3 rushing yards per game.
