Football Game Preview: Easton vs. Washington School for the Deaf Terriers

Easton are taking a road trip to take on the Washington School for the Deaf Terriers at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Easton's offense hasn't had much luck over their past three contests, but Thursday's matchup will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Thursday, Easton took a blow against Mary M. Knight, falling 41-12.

Meanwhile, Washington School for the Deaf played a tough game last Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 56-13 loss at the hands of Wishkah Valley. The Terriers were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.

Easton will have to keep a close watch on Nathan Yerkes and Michael McCullough, a pair of players who had a big impact on Washington School for the Deaf's prior game. Yerkes gained 139 total yards and a touchdown, while McCullough rushed for 44 yards and one score. Valentin Medina helped out on the ground, rushing for 87 yards.

Washington School for the Deaf didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Yerkes.

Everything came up roses for Easton against Washington School for the Deaf in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 61-19 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Yerkes, who picked up 111 receiving yards and one TD, and also threw for 95 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Easton still be able to contain Yerkes? There's only one way to find out.
