Football Recap: Highland Springs Starts Season with Victory at Home

Highland Springs gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They claimed a resounding 68-12 win over the Hopewell Blue Devils. Given the Springers' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Blue Devils are ranked 96th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Highland Springs will face off against Hough at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hopewell, they will challenge Mecklenburg County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
