Baseball Game Preview: Westside Warriors vs. Pocahontas Redskins

Westside is 1-8 against Pocahontas since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Redskins at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Westside will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Riverside on Wednesday. The Warriors put the hurt on the Rebels with a sharp 14-7 win.

The team relied heavily on Landon Webb, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Westside is 5-1 when Webb posts two or more runs, but 2-5 otherwise. Sawyer Mcbroom was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Pocahontas played in-conference for the first time on Tuesday and got just the result they were looking for. They blew past Westside 14-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Redskins.

Pocahontas' victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Westside, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
