Softball Recap: Ponte Vedra Picks Up Ninth Straight Win on the Road

Ponte Vedra hadn't done well against Ridgeview recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Sharks were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over the Panthers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Sharks.

Taylor Scribner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Carley Clarkson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Siebenaler, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5.

Ponte Vedra pushed their record up to 12-5 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for Ridgeview, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-11.

Ponte Vedra wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 9-0 loss against West Nassau on the 10th. As for Ridgeview, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-3 defeat against Oakleaf on the 10th.
