Recap: Eisenhower Tigers vs. South Cougars
The Eisenhower Tigers put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They blew past South 56-7 at home. The result was nothing new for Eisenhower, who have now won three contests by 24 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Eisenhower to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lucas Dickman, who rushed for 194 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per carry, and also threw for six yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. Dickman was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 62 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Derek Morgan, who threw for 151 yards and three touchdowns on only ten passes.
Eisenhower's victory was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 7-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-7 South and 1-7 Arkansas City (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 39.3% over those games). As for South, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eisenhower will face off against Goddard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South, they will head out on the road to face off against Maize South at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Maize South comes into the match much higher ranked than South in Kansas (Maize South is ranked 23rd, while South is ranked 139th).
