Basketball Recap: St. Mary's Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Jonah Millonida and Will Stephens

St. Mary suffered their closest defeat since February 16th on Saturday. They fell just short of the Tokay Tigers by a score of 65-63. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February.

St. Mary's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Will Stephens, who posted 19 points and four steals, and Jonah Millonida, who put up 12 points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave Stephens a new career-high in steals. Jeremy Krause was another key player, putting up four points and six rebounds.

Tokay's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carlo Agbayani led the charge by posting 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maeher Dhaliwal, who had 17 points.

St. Mary's now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Tokay, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

St. Mary's wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 71-68 loss against Half Moon Bay on the 26th. As for Tokay, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 59-41 defeat against Fairfield on the 26th.
