Somerset was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 26-16 to the Bedford Bisons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 28-7 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2023.

Despite the loss, Somerset still got an impressive performance from Lane Lambert, who rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 103 yards on six of ten attempts. Those 134 rushing yards gave Lambert a new career-high. A healthy portion of that aerial production (81 yards to be exact) went to Cole Parry.

Even though they lost, Somerset was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 224 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bedford only rushed for 87.

Bedford had a senior duo take command as Quincy Swaim rushed for 73 yards and two touchdowns and Owen Tedrow picked up 169 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Swaim was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 57 yards.

Somerset's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Bedford, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Somerset will venture away from home to face off against Penns Valley Area at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Somerset is facing Penns Valley Area at the right time seeing as Penns Valley Area is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Bedford, they will head out on the road to take on Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Central: 14.1, Bedford: 14.4) so any points scored will be well earned.
