Recap: Cedar Valley Aviators vs. Bountiful RedHawks
The Cedar Valley Aviators''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They were outmatched by Bountiful on the road and fell 51-7. Cedar Valley was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-7.
When it comes to explaining why Cedar Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Chevas Gregory. Despite the final result, he rushed for 120 yards and a touchdown. Gregory is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played.
Bountiful was led to victory by Emerson Geilman and Siaki Fekitoa. Geilman threw for 271 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, while Fekitoa rushed for 178 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries. Fekitoa was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards. Brandon Wilkinson also helped out with an impressive 100 receiving yards.
Cedar Valley's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-9. As for Bountiful, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Cedar Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Bountiful will head out on the road to face off against Granger at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Granger has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 205 points over their last four matches.
