Softball Game Preview: Trotwood-Madison Rams vs. Greenville Green Wave

Trotwood-Madison hasn't had much luck against Greenville recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Rams will square off against the Green Wave at 5:00 p.m. Trotwood-Madison has given up an average of 14.2 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Trotwood-Madison's last matchup with Meadowdale could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Friday. The Rams came up short against the Lions, falling 16-10.

Meanwhile, Greenville waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with 24 straight wins... but they left with 25. They put the hurt on the Elks with a sharp 8-1 win. That's two games straight that the Green Wave have won by exactly seven runs.

Ella Oswalt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 20 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Hallee Fourman, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Kara Blumenstock, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Trotwood-Madison's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Greenville, their victory bumped their record up to 25-1.

Trotwood-Madison might still be hurting after the 17-0 defeat they got from Greenville in their previous matchup back in March of 2019. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
