Basketball Recap: South Lenoir Takes a Loss

South Lenoir played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Wallace-Rose Hill Bulldogs, falling 39-14. The Blue Devils were down 31-8 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

When it comes to explaining why South Lenoir lost, don't look at Tyazhia Midgett. Despite the final result, she posted four points along with seven rebounds and five steals.

Wallace-Rose Hill can attribute much of their success to Nevaeh Dobson, who put up ten points in addition to seven rebounds and six blocks. The dominant performance also gave Dobson a new career-high in steals (five). Another player making a difference was Savannah Smith, who had ten points and five boards.

South Lenoir's loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Wallace-Rose Hill, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-6.

South Lenoir wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 51-29 defeat against James Kenan on the 8th. As for Wallace-Rose Hill, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-16 victory against North Lenoir on the 8th.
