Volleyball Recap: Eldon Beats Calvary Lutheran for Their Fifth Straight Victory

Eldon entered their tilt with Calvary Lutheran on Saturday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Lions. The Mustangs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions, too.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Eldon took both sets by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-12.

Among those leading the charge was Sarah Tompkins, who had nine digs.

Eldon was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. They are 8-1 when they serve at least ten aces.

Eldon's win bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Calvary Lutheran, their defeat ended a five-match streak of away wins and brought them to 13-5.

Coincidentally, Eldon and Calvary Lutheran will both be playing Montgomery County the next time they take the court. The Mustangs will host the Wildcats at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Lions will play them later in the day, at 3:00 p.m.
